The Maker Garden is a community space where people come together to create, invent and learn. We offer people resources, everything from woodworking tools to 3D printers to industrial sewing machines, so they can tinker and act on their ideas and designs.
There are 2 ways to participate at The Maker Garden. Join our online community for free and have access to our online blog to share your ideas and questions with the local making community. The best way to participate is by becoming a paid member. With a full membership you will have access to our facilities, tools and equipment, and be a part of our community of Makers.
The Maker Garden truly empowers people and lowers the barrier to entry for bringing ideas to life. Not a welder or a machinist? No background in computers? No problem. The Maker Garden will help young people learn how all the cool toys work.
The Maker Garden is a newly formed Not For Profit Organization with a goal of the promotion and development of Technical skills, Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in a friendly and social environment, through a collectively run social enterprise, offering state of the art workshop facilities, referred to as “Makerspaces”
The Maker Garden has strategically partnered with a number of strategic partners including Spark Centre (Durham’s leading Incubator organization) and Autodesk (Global leader of 3D design, engineering and entertainment software). With a goal of locations throughout the Durham Region, The Maker Garden plans to offer classes, workshops, instruction, and training for people of all ages and skill levels to build whatever they can dream.
